Addressing and discovery
Every driver, sensor and control device found on its line and addressed, with addresses recorded against the drawings so faults can be traced later.
We address, group and programme DALI and addressable lighting control systems, set up the sensors, scenes and schedules the design calls for, and prove every point before handover. Engineer-led, with experience that includes the lighting throughout an automated airport cargo handling centre.
Every driver, sensor and control device found on its line and addressed, with addresses recorded against the drawings so faults can be traced later.
Luminaires grouped to match the lighting design, with scenes and switching set up for how each space is actually used.
Presence and absence detection, time-outs and daylight-linked dimming set and tuned, so lights respond to people and daylight rather than a timer.
Time schedules, overrides and corridor linking configured — and the points the BMS needs exposed, ready for integration.
Each input and output driven and verified against the points schedule — switches, sensors, scenes and fault reporting — with results logged as we go.
Test records, as-built addressing and O&M documentation that inspectors accept first time.
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface, IEC 62386) gives every driver and control device on a lighting circuit its own digital address. That's what makes modern lighting control flexible — any luminaire can be grouped, dimmed, scheduled or monitored on its own — but none of it works until the system has been commissioned.
Commissioning means discovering every device on each DALI line, assigning addresses, building the groups and scenes the design specifies, configuring the sensors and control logic, and then testing that each one does what it should. A single DALI line carries up to 64 control gear devices, so on a large site that runs to thousands of individually addressed points.
DALI-2 extends the standard to control devices such as sensors and push buttons, with certified interoperability between manufacturers. Mixed-manufacturer systems are increasingly common — and that's where careful commissioning, and knowing how each manufacturer's tools behave, saves the most time on site.
Confirm the install is complete and the lines are healthy — wiring integrity, line loading and bus power — before addressing starts.
Devices addressed and grouped; scenes, sensors and schedules programmed to the design.
Every device driven and verified, logged against the points schedule.
Sensor time-outs and daylight levels adjusted on site, in the conditions the space will actually run in.
Witnessing with you or your CxA, snag close-out, and a signed handover.
Test records, as-built addressing and the O&M pack handed over, so faults can be traced long after we've left.
Commissioned central battery units and controllers across several locations, linking lighting controls and backup power, plus the lighting throughout an automated cargo handling centre.
Designed, rolled out and commissioned two generations of environmental sensors for a government office, linked into the lighting controls and feeding existing dashboards.
Fed lighting occupancy data to a municipal building's HVAC over BACnet, so heating and ventilation follow real presence instead of a timer. The HVAC energy saved was more than the lighting itself used.
